In addition to working to the code of conduct established by the Considerate Contractors Scheme, Westshield has developed a Community Relations Plan, which outlines procedure for working on a project within a community environment. It also pledges the company´s commitment to support causes that are important to the individuals within the organisation and its immediate environment.
We strive to be a good neighbour and understand that our actions have implications on others. By considering the needs of others, both corporately and individually, we have the potential to build rewarding relationships and drive positive change.
When working in the community, a clear channel of communication is established with residents before any work is undertaken. They are kept informed of a projects progress in order to minimise disruption and build goodwill. Communities, schools and colleges are advised on the dangers of playing on construction sites and Westshield led safety demonstrations are actively encouraged.
Heritage sites, conservation areas and areas of outstanding natural beauty are treated with sensitivity and respect. Westshield acknowledges the value of the work undertaken by preservation teams and will work in harmony with all parties to ensure collective goals are met without the need for unnecessary delays and disruption.
We understand that when working in the community we represent our clients not just ourselves so every effort is invested in keeping work areas and employees tidy, presentable and respectful. This is an area where we excel, receiving many letters of commendation from individuals who have come into contact with our operating teams.
Both corporately and individually, we support many local and national causes. Whether running the New York Marathon, trekking around China, climbing the 3 peaks or sponsoring the local Gaelic football team we understand the importance of both our financial and moral support of these efforts.
