Reinforced Concrete

Reinforced Concrete Structures

Our reinforced concrete division has a 40-year history of delivering complex concrete structures. Self-delivery is a key element of our capability, and we have the knowledge, personnel and plant to provide every element of the works. We are highly experienced in the water and wastewater industries and are expanding our capability into the high-rise residential market.

Our concrete capability includes the full scope of construction, from foundations through to substructure and superstructure. Our technical expertise encompasses all elements of precast and in-situ construction; working for both public and private sector clients.

Our insitu and precast expertise include:
  • Foundations including pilecaps, ring beams, ground bearing slabs, suspended slabs and strip footings
  • Reinforced concrete frames and core construction
  • Water retaining structures for the water and wastewater industry
  • Substructures including retaining walls, basement construction and capping beams
  • Bridge construction including the substructure, superstructure and parapets.

Self-delivery forms the foundation of our approach and everyone from our steel fixers to our joiners and concrete gangs are Westshield employees. This approach is further supported by our service yard at Bredbury, which is home to a comprehensive range of company owned proprietary formwork and falsework systems. The service yard has an under-cover workshop with a 30t gantry crane and inspection pit for vehicle servicing. The yard provides enormous opportunity for DfMA (offsite manufacture), with over two acres of hard standing where we can prefabricate reinforcement and precast concrete elements for ‘just-in-time’ delivery to site.
