The scheme at the former BICC Rod Rollers factory plot was delivered by Prescot Business Park, a joint venture between industrial property specialist Michael James and TJ Morris founder Tom Morris.

Westshield were appointed by Daineswell Remediation to deliver the infrastructure package.

The Technical Aspect:

  • Main spine road 1km from Manchester Road to the Carr Lane roundabout. Forming of bell-mouth and direct connection to the southern arm of the existing roundabout
  • Secondary spine road 0.2km to the western boundary, including the forming of a turning head
  • Large attenuation swale, providing storage volume to accommodate attenuated flows from the entire site, whilst restricting flows to Prescot Brook, west of the M57 motorway
  • Design and the construction of a noise attenuation bund which formed parallel to the site boundary, adjacent to the M57 motorway
  • Construction of all associated highway drainage and adoptable sewers beneath the main spine roads and outfalls to and from the swale
  • Installation of utility apparatus in a dedicated service reserve along the full length of the spine road
