The service reservoirs are located near Darwin within the Pennine Moor SSSI.

A substantial earth slope slippage occurred in 2017 which required stabilisation to secure the reservoirs. 

The Technical Aspect:

• Sensitive clearance of existing failed slope
• Gabion and revetments protection to brook, with runoff controls
• Importing of 8000m3 of engineered fill to form new 15m high slope
• Locate and identify existing pipelines around the 2 service reservoirs
• Install new interconnecting pipework and valves to provide isolation between cells
• Remove and demolish generator building, fuel tanks and septic tank
