Highway construction – section 278 works.

Scope of works undertaken:

• Reconstruction of footpaths, junction improvements and carriageway upgrade
• Traffic signalisation upgrade
• New installation of traffic islands on 4-way junction (dual carriageway)
• Construction of new entrances to the hotel including new block paved road
• Resurfacing of all dual carriageway, junction and entrance road to MUFC Stadium

The Technical Aspect:

The works package comprised of:-

• FRC
• Surface Water Drainage
• External works
• Surfacing

The scope of works included the following:-

• Sewer connections
• Gully Connections and installation of S.W. pipework and manholes
• Reduce level excavation and removal
• Foundations and RC slabs
• FRC works to retaining walls, slabs and upstands
• Ducting and Street lighting installation
• Traffic Signal Installation works
• Formation of car parking areas and roads
• Hard landscaping – kerbing, paving (block paved areas and flagging), installation of feature bollards
• Adjusting and installing all new iron work to carriageway and footways
• Planing off existing carriageway
• Surfacing to existing carriageway, new roads, footpaths and 4-way junction
• Handrail and Central reservation road barrier installation
• White-lining
